What you cannot see

Do you know what is keeping you from becoming the leader you were meant to be?

Different role, different team, different season. The same outcomes keep happening.

The hardest part is not the moment. It is the gap between the leader you know you are and the one who showed up under the pressure.

What it costs

What you can't see is costing you

No leader should be hijacked by a fear they cannot see.

Meet the IFQ®

Now you can see it.

The IFQ® surfaces the underlying fear that drives your actions, reactions, and decisions under pressure, the effect it has on your team, and teaches you what to do about it.

The fear does not go away when you see it. It stops driving the behavior.

The payoff

The leader you are when fear is not in the way.

Every identity fear sits on top of a real, God-given strength. When you become aware of the fear, the same instinct that made things difficult is transformed into your leadership strength.

The IFQ® names that leader. It is called your Impact Identity.

It is not a personality test

Personality tests are for everyone. The IFQ® is for leaders.

Other tests showed your labels, your strengths, and your preferences. Then nothing changed, and you ran into the same wall.

Your strengths are real, and they are how you show up 97% of the time. The IFQ® measures what happens to them in the 3% of time when pressure has hold of you, so you can be at your best when your best is needed.

The IFQ® Measures What Happens in the 3%.

97% normal or good conditions 3% stress, pressure, and uncertainty

Most assessments tell you what you do. The IFQ® tells you why you do it.

Portrait of Scott Snodgrass
It's not just a personality test. It peels back the layers of the onion and gets to the root cause and understanding about who you are.
Scott Snodgrass, CEO

Under pressure, you do not choose. You default.

Will you lead for impact or for validation?

You lead for impact when you give to the people and the mission in front of you. You lead for validation when the moment becomes about quieting an insecurity instead.

Nobody chooses the second one on purpose. That is exactly what makes it expensive.

What drives the 3% is an identity fear, the lie your insecurity tells about who you are. It stays quiet when things are going well. But under pressure it secretly takes the wheel.

Built to be measured

Every other assessment measures the surface. The IFQ® measures the root.

The only assessment in leadership development that measures insecurity.

Nobody else measures insecurity.

An audit of 20 leadership assessments across five categories revealed not one of them measures the root cause of behavior under pressure.

Built by a data scientist and a leadership development expert.

Twenty-five years of leadership development practice, engineered into a weighted nine-dimension scoring model drawn from ancient wisdom.

The largest study of leadership insecurity ever conducted.

Over 1,000 leaders across 36 U.S. organizations, including 83 C-suite executives.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the IFQ®?
The Identity Fear Quotient® is a four-question leadership assessment that measures which of nine identity fears drives your behavior under stress and pressure. It takes about 15 minutes and produces a personalized 12-page report to show you the leader you can become and how to get there.
How is it different from DiSC, StrengthsFinder or the Enneagram?
Those tools describe how you show up when things are going well. The IFQ® measures how you show up under pressure, and it is a supplement to what you already use, not a replacement.
What do I actually get?
A 12-page personalized report, generated immediately. It names your Impact Identity, ranks all nine identity fears by your scores, shows your core value and how it gets distorted under pressure, measures your tells and your current stress so you know exactly what to pay attention to, predicts the risk your leadership pattern under pressure creates in your culture, and gives you a plan built specifically for you.
How long does it take?
Four questions, about 15 minutes. There is no preparation and there are no wrong answers.
Can my result change?
Yes. Among leaders who retake the IFQ®, 53% see their primary identity fear change between assessments, because the IFQ® measures your current state under pressure rather than a permanent trait. We recommend remeasuring annually or during significant personal or professional changes.
Can my whole team take it?
Yes. When your team takes the IFQ®, SightShift® can generate a Culture Risk Report, a team-level diagnostic measuring all nine culture risk factors across every member.
What does it cost?
The IFQ® is free through September 13, and taking it during the window includes a seat in a live session with Dr. Chris McAlister.

The leader you were meant to be is not a standard to reach.

It is who you already are when the fear is not driving. Four questions tells you which fear has been driving.
